How much daylight is in your day?
Six quick questions about your usual weekday. You get an honest estimate for your mornings, days and evenings, plus the easiest place to add a little more light.
Why morning daylight?
Bright daylight soon after waking is one of the main cues your body clock uses to keep time: the circadian rhythm behind your sleep schedule. Outdoors, even a cloudy morning is many times brighter than a lit room, so stepping outside usually gets you far more light than sitting by the window.
The catch: you barely notice it in the moment. That makes it easy to skip, especially on dark or busy mornings.
What the LightOtter app does for it
- Every morning, an estimate of how many minutes outside fit today, based on clouds and the height of the sun where you are.
- Coming to the iOS and Android apps: an optional morning reminder.
- Ollie fills up with light and your streak grows, so the morning counts right away.
